About Breeder
My name is RosaLee I am BREEDER & owner of Oriental Beauties Shih Tzu, we began our love of the Shih Tzu 2007 with the purchase of our first puppy Rufus, an beautiful Gold & White male. I was constantly being asked what kind of dog is that, he is so beautiful, gentle, where can I get an puppy like that, do you breed them? I got these questions every outing, as many of you know Shih Tzu are like potato chips - Meaning you cannot just have ONE. I purchased an female we named her Bella who was a gorgeous Brindle & White. I asked the breeder where I acquire my first Shih Tzu if she could mentor me as we really wanted to maintain an small in-home hobby breeding program, offering deserving families an quality puppy to cherisher an lifetime.
At Oriental Beauties Shih Tzu we raise our puppies on purpose with Conformation, Temperament, Health, Beauty in mind in which results in the ultimate companion. Our goal in breeding is to eliminate inheritable conditions through research, health testing & select breeding. * Meaning if our parent dogs do not meet our criteria we do not breed them. We proudly register all of our Shih Tzu puppies with the only reputable registration, The American Kennel Club .
At Oriental Beauties Shih Tzu we offer a 1 year congenital health guarantee, our puppies are born strong & healthy free from congenital defects inside our home. In order to keep the edge on our breeding program we follow several, protocols in the regards of breeding, especially in health and behavior department, which results in beautiful, healthier, and well adjusted Shih Tzu puppies.
Our Shih Tzu puppies are handled from day one on a daily basis which, down the road, facilitates an easier transition from my home to the new owner. We have begun health testing all breeding stock to ensure you receive an happy healthy puppy that conforms to standard. My special interest lies in the effort to eliminate RD (Renal Dysplasia), a dreaded disease in puppies and adults, & PSVA (Liver shunts, or portosystemic vascular anomaly) in my breeding stock through regular DNA testing of my dogs and selective breeding.
Buyers are encouraged to visit puppies while they are growing up and to get to know the sire and the dam and observe the temperament. This gives me the chance to evaluate the new home of my pups and to answer all pertinent questions to help to ease the change of homes. I reserve the right to refuse a sale of any puppy of mine to anyone if I deem that it is not of benefit to my puppies.
New owners are encouraged to call me with any questions they have about raising their new puppy. My help will be available through the lifetime of the Shih Tzu. Should the buyer decide not to keep the dog due to unforeseen circumstances, I am to be contacted immediately as the first resource to get the dog back.
